Social and Therapeutic Music Education in Schools and Special Needs Education

A Tonalis Training in collaboration with Ruskin Mill Trust

This course is for those who want to study how music education can be deepened and made more holistic and inclusive through incorporating social and therapeutic elements.

It will provide participants with the competencies to work with children with differing educational and developmental needs. The course will meet the vocational and CPD needs of music and class teachers in schools, special needs teachers, educational music therapists, music therapists and community musicians in educational contexts. The course is led by Michael Deason-Barrow – director of Tonalis Music Centre – assisted by Lorin Panny, who will teach ‘Listening Movement’ and the use of new social therapeutic instruments for music education.
