We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Goethean Science and Phenomenology course for September 2019. The course will explore the theory, practice and application of Goethean approaches. The course will:

  • present the historical and philosophical background to Goethe’s science;
  • compare the Goethean method with the modern scientific method; and
  • demonstrate the general applicability of the Goethean method in diverse area of life and work.

Modules

Module 1: Introduction. The universal applicability of Goethe’s way of seeing.
Philosophical foundations of Goethean science. Historical interpretation of
Goethe’s way of seeing through Rudolf Steiner and others. Guided exercises.
The use of meditation as a research tool, in combination with sense
perception.

Module 2: Application of Goethe’s science in the study of inorganic
phenomena e.g. chemistry, colour.

Module 3: Application of Goethe’s science in the study of organic phenomena
e.g. plants, animals, human beings. Application in farming, education,
therapy.
